Two Southern Californians have settled in an ocean-view home in Carmel. Tom and Lori Drake and their daughters, Sarah and Macy moved to San Elijo Hills from La Costa.

"Tom started eyeing the community as soon as he saw activity on the property," said Lori. "We purchased as soon as the perfect ocean-view home became available."

The Drakes were attracted by San Elijo Hill's small town atmosphere. "We love the whole concept - the towncenter, the parks, local schools, and trails," said Lori. "But the biggest treat when we moved here were the neighbors. Of the 18 families who live on our block, 15 have children under 7." she added. "Everyone is good to each other and truly cares about one another."

Committed to the cause of 'community,' it didn't take long for Lori to get involved. She and her neighbor, Gloria Carrion, started a play group, which now meets weekly in homes and cul-de-sacs, and numbers more than 50.

Currently, the neighborhood representative for Carmel, Lori enjoys keeping her neighborhood informed with quarterly newsletters for the Carmel neighborhood. "I want to help make this community one of the best," said Lori. "It is exciting to be a founding family here in San Elijo Hills. San Elijo is definitely a very special place and we are proud to call this our home!"
