Settling into a new home is always a challenge. But the Welchons family, who just moved into Cedar Crossing from the Dallas-Ft.Worth area, has more settling in to do than most. Kristy and Scott have eight children, ranging from 14-year-old Kaydee to Dillon, who was born the week before the family moved in. They like the friendliness of their new neighborhood and expect to have the house where everyone congregates.

The whole family is enjoying the proximity to the beach. Scott grew up in Del Mar/Torrey Pines area, but moved before he got proficient in surfing. He's making up for lost time now and sharing his enthusiasm with his kids. Kids and dad are all taking surfing lessons.

Scott also likes the proximity to The Coaster in Encinitas. Like a growing number of San Elijo Hills residents, he commutes downtown on The Coaster. Scott works for Peoplefirst.com, an automobile financing company and subsidiary of Capital One. Kristy, quite understandably, has a full-time job at home.
