Triathletes, who met at a triathlon, Roch and Laurie Ward are Cedar Crossing residents who can often be seen walking with their two Boston Terriers or running on the trails that weave through the community. "We love being out in the hills and yet so close to the beach," says Roch. They found San Elijo Hills by luck. "A friend just drove us out here. This was the first development we saw and since we loved the area, we had no desire to look anywhere else," says Laurie. They are delighted with their decision. "The neighbors are so friendly. We've not only made friends, but best friends. We just returned from a cruise with one of our neighbors," says Laurie. Cooking provides an interesting balance to their athletic endeavors. Roch loves to cook and has a reputation for Cajun fare from his home state of Louisiana. Laurie, a San Diego native, loves to bake and has given cookies to most of the neighbors. Laurie is a certified public accountant with UCSD and Roch is an occupational therapist who specializes in hands at Tri City Hand Center. When you see them on the trails, give them a big hello. |
